Elevator Malfunction Feb. 27: The O’Connor Hall elevator was reported to be malfunctioning with a faculty member trapped inside. Campus Safety and an elevator technician responded. Informational Report Feb. 27: Campus Safety responded to investigate a burning smell at the Market Cafe in Benson Memorial Center. They discovered a burned paper towel inside the microwave. Medical Emergency Feb. 22: A student injured his ankle while playing basketball in Malley Fitness Center. SCU EMS assisted him. Feb. 25: A campus resident requested medical assistance for a possible viral infection. SCU EMS evaluated her. Feb. 25: A non-affiliate male was intoxicated and fell off his bike on Accolti Way. Campus Safety and SCFD responded. He refused further medical care and SCFD escorted him home. Feb. 26: A student injured his ankle while playing kickball. SCU EMS assisted him. Feb. 27: A campus resident accidentally cut her foot on a piece of furniture. SCU EMS gave her medical assistance. Sexual Assault Feb. 26: A student was sexually assaulted at an offcampus location on Poplar Street. SCPD was notified and took over the investigation. A timely warning was issued to the campus community. Suspicious Circumstance Feb. 24: Offensive flyers were found posted on a board in Daly Science 200. They were taken down, documented and disposed of. Student Behavior Feb. 25: Campus residents were observed taking a Santa Clara-owned bench from the University Villas common area to their room. They were admonished and advised to return the bench to its original place. Feb. 26: Two male students reported receiving threatening text messages from another male student. Campus Safety documented the incident. Feb. 26: A group of students refused to leave Malley Fitness Center after it closed. They were uncooperative with a Campus Safety officer and refused to provide their identifications when asked. They eventually left the building without further incident. Theft Feb. 22: Athletic gear was reported stolen from the Information Technology office inside of the Harrington Learning Commons. Feb. 23: A backpack containing an Apple laptop was reported stolen from the first floor of the Harrington Learning Commons. Video camera footage revealed a suspect taking the backpack.
